Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Cardiff Half Marathon: Fantastic race, perfect weather conditions, mega club turnout, and brilliant support from the sidelines. Maintained a consistent pace, trying to keep Alan in my sights, only dipping a little from mile 9 to 12 due to burning sensation to ball of left foot, though that subsided in last mile so didn't hinder me greatly. Knocked over 2 mins off my pb and last year's time, but garmin measured course at 12.99 miles so short. Finished 364th overall and 9th in my age category...may make the geriatric olympics yet!
Organisers have since admitted race was short by 193m (211 yards) due to obstruction on route through Penarth marina. Based on my overall race pace and the WAVA value I had for 12.98 miles (the officially recorded distance run) my time over the 13.1 miles would be adjusted to 1.26.26, still a massive pb.
