Notes & Comments

#153 - running with a cold after a whole day in bed. full up on paracetamol etc, breathing was heavy at the beginning. the temperature pretty cold (10') muscles tool a while to warm up and stretching was not great.
started a little bit further from left, and managed to get away better. Got into stride fast but breathing was heavy and was struggling to manage it. Warmed up by 1km and tried my best to be steady on flat and hills. Overtook several people on the first hill before the 1st mile point and felt fairly strong on first hill. Good shouting from Jaz and Sam at the 1st mile mark, and relaxed the shoulders and this helped.
Struggled towards the 3rd km but kept going although my bowels were very active.
by the 4KM marker, I put in all i had left and run the last Km for Sam and his bad back!

I kept Leigh in sight all the way as I knew she would do min 28min and I would be happy with that.

she sprinted at the end and gave me a good 50m clear run but I came in a place after her at 142 over 203. 36th lady overall.
a good race, nice conditions, not great health but very good spirit by the end! :))
