Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Edinburgh Marathon - scorching hot, lots of walking, dizziness, sickness and loads of great support. I started off really well getting to 5 miles in 38:43, the next section was a bit more of a struggle as we headed down the coast road, 10 miles in 80:20. The heat and sunshine was unbearable and there was very little shade, people were going down all around me. For the next 10 miles I was taking regular walk breaks, my breathing was okay but my legs didn't wann move, I was even struggling to walk. I got to 20 miles in 3hr 30s and then came the worst bit. I walked most of the next 3 miles to get to 23 miles in about 3hr 50m, I felt badly sick and I was eating anything that anyone offered me. I got moving again and shuffled home to finish in Musselburgh Racecourse where there was no respite from the sun until around half an hour later when I met Katherine in the reunion area. I was sick on the grass and then perked up a little to get a bit of food and water in me. The one good thing to come out of the race was that I didn't get any blisters on my feet and had no problems at all with my toes.
