Notes & Comments

Royal Parks half marathon. Great event, best half-marathon I have ever done, certainly best city half marathon - great route via Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, Embankment, Admiralty Arch then 7 miles of running through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens - great route! Also 'proper' T-shirt and good organisation and very handy to get to - will definitely do again. Pretty pleased with my time, given bad summer - started slowly with mates, and then decided to run my own pace after 2 miles. Started using 'positive thinking' mantras from around mile 9, very American but got me through to the last few miles when my body eased up anyway with finish line in sight, will keep working on this 'mental' angle in future, might help. A good day.
