Wrexham marathon
Signed up for this on the day, haha. It was a perfect day for running. It all went well in the first half, hitting my goal pace more or less and feeling well until about 16 miles when I started getting a bit tired. Took a caffeinated gel at 17 miles and then things went south. I felt very sick for about 2 miles, had to slow down a lot. By 20 miles, I started feeling better but I didn't dare to take the second gel, also caffeinated so I ran without any more gels from that point onwards until the end. As a consequence, I slowed down by about 30-40 seconds and even more on the final hills. Just missed the sub 3:45 and another GFA but that's what London is for.
