Ljubljana half marathon.

I wasn't sure how this would go as I had a bit of a cold and had been drinking lager the day before. But I had a plan (9:40:9:45 mm).

I stuck to that for the first 8 miles or so. The water stations were chaotic so you can see where they were. I just took them as an opportunity to walk for a few paces. I used my running mantra - the same 4 words over and over. So when it got tough I just focussed on the words. At 18k I knew I was on for a pb so just kept going. I was slowing down at the finish until Carol C shouted very loudly at me at 21k when I miraculously found a burst of speed.
Overall, very happy to have done a massive pb.

It was a nice course with lots of support

But my recollection will be there were lots of downhills so where were the ups???
