Notes & Comments

BRENTWOOD HALF

Strategy was to run at 8mm pace to get under 1.45

First 2 miles were downhill, I tried my utmost to slow down and not go tooo fast. Ran both at 7.40 pace, which meant I had 40 secs in the bag. I was to need that later on! Miles 6.5 to 8 was a long slog uphill, and I was bang on 8min mile pace for the distance as I passed the 8 mile marker. Another net uphill mile 10 put me behind schedule, so from there on it was push as fast as I could.

Miles 11 & 12 were comfortably under 8 min miles. Last full mile was uphill, and I just managed an 8min mile, turn the corner and downhill to the end. The finish clock was showing close to 1.45 when I saw it. I couldn't believe it, 1.45 plus!

Doh!

It was chip timed, I'd started my watch as we crossed the mats at the start.

Watch time of 1.44.22, a 3 minute PB over Great Bentley 5 weeks ago, which in itself was a 6 minute PB over Reading 2005

Will update with official time when I get it.
UPDATE 1.44.21
