The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
The marathon. Hot day in Brighton, apparently reaching 20 degrees but it definitely felt warmer! Am now very burnt but pretty happy.
Caught up in the crowds for the first mile before getting to the pace I wanted to see. Pretty good, even splits for the first half, the 2 slower miles were the worst of the hilly section.
Second half I was still feeling pretty ok until 23.5 miles where turning back for the home leg facing the sun and the wind I suddenly lost all momentum and found myself crawling along the seafront. From that point it stopped being fun.
Despite the couple of low 7's miles before hand I was still hopeful of a sub 3 until then as I had time banked and the 23rd mile was actually back where it needed to be (6:40s)until I dramatically slowed.
59th apparently and pretty pleased simply to have run a marathon. Both Lucy and I achieved the Good For Age target too so can run London next year without worrying about the ballot. A memorable weekend!
