Three Peaks Fell Race
Oooh what a bastard this race is. I was fully prepared and expecting it so it wasn't a surprise but perhaps I'd been warned about whernside by so many people I underestimated PYG and Inglebugger. Set off at a conservative pace but without wanting to let SS get out of sight. Took a tumble down Whernide but seemed to make a full recovery but it effectively ended any hope of a sub 4. At the top of ingleborough I thought I still had a chance as long as I could crack out 8 minute miles down hill but the terrain was so technical I didn't even manage one let alone 4. Legs so tired I was concerned about falling if I pushed too hard. In terms of how I'd prepared for it its difficult to see what more I could have done, possibly more steep climbs and more tempo runs and I could really do with improving my descending speed. Arguably I could have attacked the climbs more but I decided to take them easy and push on the more runnable sections. Great race and SS managed to not die at the end so well done everyone!
