Ally C Did not really plan for this race and did not do any race specific training. However I thought I would have done better. Tough course and I think I am still suffering the effects of not resting long enough after the Lochaber marathon. I think I need to do some more running on the flat as I suffered badly on these parts today. Stopped 4 times probably due to the fact I thought I could run at a pace I had been used to a few months back. I need to get my speed and stamina back. Training now turns towards Dublin marathon in October. Final note on Wycombe - I just wish I was as well organised as the event itself! To sum up my time - garbage!!

Footpad Am I really the slowest Fetchie in this race??? :-(

official times now in. i was going OK with my friend who turned out to have done a LOT of training and was pushing the pace by mile 3. i had to stop for a loo break and I never caught him up. he ended up doing this 6 mins quicker than me.
However this is the first of 4 Hm for me and I will beat his time!
Course was hilly as expected but the sharp hill at mile 12 was nasty! The long drag back with the wind into your face all the way was interesting!! Liked the finish a lot!
Good medal, T-shirt & Goody bag. All in all a great race.... will do next year and get a good time!

Forest Runner Like GazGib, I keep coming back for this one and it will be my 9th consecutive year. I haven't broken 1:35 on this course yet, and I don't think I will do it this year either.
UPDATE: I was going well up to 10 miles and was on for sub 1:35, despite having a sore hamstring before I even started and pain from it after just two miles. I had already stopped at 9 miles to massage my hamstring and then had to stop again at the drinks station just after 10 miles for some massage on my hamstring by the Saint John's Ambulance people. After stopping for about 5 minutes, I slowly jogged the last three miles, still in quite a lot of pain. If it hadn't been for the fact that I was determined to finish my 9th consecutive Wycombe half marathon and for the fact that up until 10 miles I was on for a course PB, I would have pulled out at around the half way mark, and if I hadn't stopped for a massage, I think that I would have taken a lot longer or not finished at all.

GAZGIB Oh no, not Wyc half again. I am back for my 8th this year and Marlow Hill doesn't get easier with experiance. Previous times here are 2:45, 2:02, 1:59, 1:54, 1:44, 2:09, 2:10. **RESULT** Felt rotten for the whole race and the rest of the day. Didn't stop though, despite nearly doing so on many occasions and that hill at 12 is just taking the wotsit.

Jonny Quite pleased with my time considering I ran fairly hard 10.5 miler yesterday and then went to a wedding. Found it quite tough for the last 5 miles especially into the wind.

MadRobby Forgot my watch so just ran at what felt like a decent pace. Was nice not to obsess over min/mile times and enjoy the race. Pleased with time, but it was hard work. Went home and hibernated for 4hrs afterwards.

Waveydavey Spot on prediction. Didn't feel great at any point thanks to hills, wind, heat and poor prep.

Wheabs Big hill at the start doesn't look good for a PB! But should be a nice training run. UPDATE: been feeling a bit rough all week so definitely treated it as a training run. Felt quite relaxed until I got to the bottom of the big hill and started that slow uphill slog into the wind. I was aiming for between 1:40 and 1:45 - so just made it.
