Fee First race in a few years,really pleased with the time on a broiling hot day.

Kema Bit emotional at start, only 4 weeks since lost father to cancer but felt ok once i'd started. Had to walk a couple of times because of the heat.

Lady Sol Nottingham Central race 2.30pm -------> PB with 25:58. Started in the second row in order to avoid being crowded too much at the start. Meant I had the space to run, but had to run the first 500m much to fast. Consequently was out of breath by 1km. Once ahead of most of the pack I could slow down to race pace. Finished about 20th out of 4500 so not too bad for my second race I guess. Course marked well with signs and km markers. No officical timing as it was Race for Life, but started at the front so could use the clock OK to time myself. Lack or signs to the start point required 15 minutes of looking lost walking up and down Victoria Embankment though and never found the proper race car park. Good crowd support, was clapped round from about 2.5km in. Overall good race.

SarahBoots (Solitude_Fairy) First ever race. Througly enjoyed it, although it was very hot. Think I may have the bug!

two_tailed_pasha Pleased with time considering really hot and sunny and took a long time to get started (over 20mins late getting going) missed 1K and 4K markers but steady 6min KMs, just sprinted a bit too early before the finish, didn't realise it looped around the park a bit. No water on offer - what's that all about?!
