Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

E Although I achieved a PB this race was dissapointing as I missed my bronze time by 16 seconds.

Greenman Ran this at an easy pace as I didn't want to aggravate my hamstring. It felt tight but not painful, hopeully it will hold up for London next weekend. Nice course and good organisation, liked the medal too.

hammerite Aimed for 8's as I'm nowhere near PB pace. Took a steady pace and worked the hills. Managed slightly quicker and finished a few seconds quicker than 49m. Enjoyed the race, and felt comfortable all the way round.

Lieutenant Lucerne Previous times on this undulating course 2005 - 46m 31s, 2006 - 44m 24s. Will try for a PB this year.
***UPDATE****The warm weather provided an extra challenge, so I took the first 5kms at a steady pace, reaching half way at 20m 55s. I started to pick up the pace after 6kms. There were three short hills in the second half of the course (some of which seemed a bit like a large roller coaster), so the last few kms were quite demanding. However I reached 9km well on target and motivated by (a) the chance to set a personal best, (b) the fact that there were a few bets on me and (c) it was a gentle downhill stretch to the finish, the last km was the fastest and I also managed a negative split.
My time was a lot better than expected. I'm actually training for a marathon (with lots of long slow runs – around 8m 20s pace), but clearly this has helped to improve my speed over shorter distances.

Nightjar One week after Stanwick and I took 2 minutes of my PB. Very pleased. Set my virtual partner up for 46 minutes and ran a consistent race against her with a good set of km splits. Gradually pulled away from her thinking I'd have a bit in reserve for the hills but managed to keep it up on the hills too giving me that 40 second bonus. Sweet.

No.8 â„¢ Training run - should have run the first 5k in 19:00 and went through in 19:25 and then the second 5k in 17:35, but that was 18:24. Found the second half very undulating and overall difficult to pace accurately. Good lesson in running a negative split and an really well organised race, with a good medal and goody bag at the end.

Schnecke This was very hard work - hoped to sneak in a wee bit under my best 10K time, but this was a killer! Very hot, much hillier than the description of 'undulating' would suggest, and feeling a bit below par anyway due to tummy bug over the last couple of days. All things considered, it wasn't a bad effort, but still feel slightly disappointed. The race itself was excellently organised and marshalled - computerised results up on a screen immediately we crossed the finish line - very impressive!
