Big Al Widepants Started off well at about 8.30 pace and there was a big downhiller before turning right into a disused railway cutting. Underfoot it was rough and the camber right and left made it awkward to keep your feet. The turn at the end was a little tricky although it was nice to see everyone that you'd passed. My horse style breathing put the wind up a few fellow runners and I was flagging at about 8K but Colin pushed on and I hung in there. The hill at 9K was a killer but after that it was all down to the finish which I sprinted against Col and breasted the tape together. The line was cramped and I nearly fell avoiding a slow finisher.

shannon first ever time this race has been held and it was a good fun village race. the course was quite muddy and uneven.
