Mark I am notorious for foam rolling the last week before every one of my marathons. I am always convinced that I have ITB (although intensity and mileage reduces), shin splints and the best of I overpronate more causing me we spots of discomfort in the rest of the body as a compensate. So it is normal

Dimitris, it's only gone and happened, I'm full of bloody cold today and feel awful. I just hope I can shake it by Sunday and that it doesn't ruin my time completely. Arse.

Use an iron on a medium heat together with a hot tea-towel - any hotter any you'll singe your pubes

By the time I reached the eve of my first marathon, I was convinced the pain that had developed in my foot would cause me to DNF after the first mile. The morning of the event - I forgot the pain, and got a GFA
Second Marathon was similar, with a cold that only cleared up on the morning of the event - and I shaved over 2 mins off my PB.
Forget physios - it's shrinks we should be seeing!
