You can thank Chrisity for this and a whole blog on just one “January Filler” item. The unwanted present.
Now, as you may know, most of the people who give me Christmas presents also read my blogs. So I’m not falling for that trap.
All my presents were great and much appreciated, thank you!
Except, maybe, the 2 weeks of ‘presents’ Roxy the dog left us in the garden. I’ll probably find those when I next rake or mow the lawn. And I’m not heading out to search for and take photos of dog poo to post here!
So, what’s left? Well, 2 options.
The first is ‘potential’ presents I bought. Spare chocs and biscuits in case we went anywhere, or anyone unexpected turned up and we needed a quick last minute gift. These were unused, so not exactly ‘not wanted’. But they won’t go to waste.
After the cakes and mince pies and other real present chocolates have been consumed, I’ll polish these off.
And the second? Well, a present from Off Roader.
She typically includes the latest Jack Reacher book in an assortment of ‘small’ gifts each year. And having read it, I pass it back to her for her to read. The Reacher books are very readable, but typically not ones we keep. And, sorry to say, not cultured or intellectual enough that we re-read a few times to ensure we get the full literary inflections, meanings and subtle word plays. (If there are any in there.) Once is enough.
So, having read it and enjoyed it, it’s now ‘unwanted’ by me and passed on (or back) to the next reader. After which, she’ll no doubt pass it on.
Maybe not so much an unwanted present, but like the chocolates, ‘single use’.
More to come on the other items in the near blogging future!

Decided to take my retirement and focus on me time.More than 6 years on and still running, walking, deer stalking and taking photos.
SWCP and Wainwrights still work in progress.
Not getting any faster.
