I was travelling a lot over Christmas so didn't get a chance to properly hunt for treasures until I got back to Spain and I struggled to find some of them due to cultural differences but, excuses made, here we go...
1) Stocking
Stockings were difficult to find but there were some hung outside this travel agents....
2) A Boxing Day Tradition
This is the Boulevard in San Sebastian, on any festival day, including Boxing day this is jam packed with people all taking a traditional paseo with their family and perhaps stopping for a coffee or an icecream. But I took this picture on a rainy Thursday at 8am, so you'll just have to take my word for it! (and apologies for really scraping the bottom of the barrel on that one!)
3) Christmas Wreath
wreathy-ish?
4) Lights
San Sebastian does do a very impressive array of christmas lights, including this one by the town hall...
5) Gold, Frankincense or Myrrh
Pretty sure I bagged all three in there somewhere...
6) (Son of a) Nutcracker
Shamelessly copying other's suggestion of a squirrel - and he is a Christmassy squirrel...
7) (on 31st Dec) New Year's Eve
Lanterns on the beach when we went for our midnight swim...
8) Something brand new
Looking forward to making good use of these beauties in 2025...
9) The weather where you are
Grey sea and sky, could almost be in Wales...
10) Baubles
11) Christmas Past
The original Christmas - giant nativity scene that takes over the whole of Gipuzkoa plaza...
12) It's all over!
7th January all the shop decorations are down and it is time for the sales...
