Day 10 - The most dishevelled decoration
In truth the most dishevelled decoration around here is probably the Village Christmas tree which has been assuming a tired and emotional posture since well before the big day (see my Day 5 post). However, my offering is one of the many discarded trees, abandoned once the festivities are over. I love a real Christmas tree but find their ultimate fate rather sad
Day 11 - Fire
I was hoping that nature would provide an impressively flaming sunset but, with the weather we have been having, it seems to just slide beneath the horizon with an almost audible “Thank God that’s over” rather than any pyrotechnics. So, something more conventional, together with a pair of rather soggy dogs enjoying the warmth after a very wet walk
Day 12 - Ice
The weather didn’t play ball here either. It was promising a bit frosty yesterday evening but the dawn brought just more rain so I’m having to go a bit more left-field.
Some years ago a friend of a friend, who was moving abroad, offered Cheeky, then quite a small boy, a tank with a couple of goldfish. Along with the goldfish came an Albino African Clawed Frog. No problem we thought till we learned they can live 20 - 30 years! Anyway, we called him Jeremy Fisher (obviously) and here he is
He’s not the most exciting pet. In truth he doesn’t do much at all, but he eats bloodworms, which come in convenient portions in a blister pack of little frozen ice cubes (geddit?) Not exactly what I’d want in my G & T but he seems to like it 😁
And there are my treasures. Many thanks Um & Reiver for a fun challenge. It took a bit of head-scratching!
