Happy New Year Fetchies!
Traditional Captain Cooks fell race today. A civilised 11am start. Lovely sunny day and not too cold (as ever, I was too warm in my choice of outfit)
I wasn't expecting anything spectacular as I'd had stomach ache through the evening and half the night and was still a bit tender. However, once warmed up and running it wasn't too bad. Managed to overtake a few on the early part of the climb and run enough of the really steep bit to impress a few (including me!) Round Captain Cooks monument at the top of the moor and down the other side. I ran well on the paving stones and gravel path, but the 'real' descent is very steep and muddy and I faffed a bit, letting a few people past. Once past that bit though, no-one else was coming through!
Across a couple of sloppy fields and through the woods. The final stretch is very narrow and wet with whipped up liquid mud, I still managed to overtake one more lady and chase the guy in front all the way into the finish.
Awaiting official time, but I think only a couple of seconds off my best time! Not bad to say I have stomach ache on the start line.
Treasure hunt catch up...
Day 3
Christmas Window
Day 4
Holly and Ivy - managed to get them together.
Day 5
Outside Christmas Tree - this is our town tree, not sure why it isn't lit up!
Day 6
Six geese a laying - I struggled to find six of them, but I have this!
Day 7
It's crackers!
Day 8
New Years Day activity - see above blog
