After a promising start at the beginning of the month I'd got a bit distracted with this - so emergency run tonight to get the last few clues!
1. Coronation
Decided to skip the obvious, and go retro with this bus shelter in Dummer (Hampshire).
Seems a bit of a shame that Mrs Andrew Ferguson didn't think she could use any of her own names. And I think she's Sarah Ferguson's grandmother.
2. Food/drink
Now available at the Bell in Sandy, as well as live music, and some gardening if you fancy it.
3. Farm animal
The cows (and bull) are back in the Riddy nature reserve - so off limits for dog walking for a bit.
4. Metallic
Spotted this nice feed trough when running on holiday in Norway.
5. Pile
Literally a pile of sh!t, in a field in Hertfordshire. It wasn't steaming, but the smell was pretty powerful.
6. Waterside
Gandsfjorden, south of Stavanger, where I sat for a bit of rest and reflection during a run last week.
7. Favourite gate
Several candidates for this, but I quite like this one, which leads into some woods on the Greensands Ridge path. There's a plaque with a poem next to it.
8. Arrow
Never seen one of these before. It was just opposite Fergie's granny's bus shelter in Dummer - and a bit of research shows I was on the St James Way - which runs from Reading to Southampton, and is a pilgrimage route.
9. Local history
Have used, and blogged about this, before. Gibraltar Farm, or the 'Black Barn' as it is known in the running club, is on the former RAF Tempsford. During WWII this was a top secret base that was used to fly spies and resistance workers in and out of occupied France. The barn is where they were issued with their kit before boarding the plane, and is now a memorial. It's quite a good reality check if you feel you've had a bit of a bad day.
10. Homemade
What lies behind this ordinary looking door? If I'd zoomed in you might have seen the sign on the door - but it's not really the part of Sandy where you hang around taking photos (friends of ours who used to live there kept a baseball bat under the bed). It is home to Helen's Homemade Cakery - https://www.helenshomemadecakery.co.uk.
Thanks for an interesting set of clues Cackleberry. Bring on June!
