So, it’s a bit late but here are my offerings for January’s Treasure Hunt. Thanks to Chrisity for setting.
1 .A punny sign
I thought this would be easier than it was but couldn’t find anything until I remembered this place - a cafe which was a favourite haunt of Cheeky and his friends when they were in Sixth Form (on the rare occasions lockdowns allowed)
2. A famous person
Huw Morus (1622 – 1709) is the closest thing we have to a famous son of our valley, certainly the only one I know of born within my WSW Home Grid. “The Nightingale of Ceiriog” is (I’m told) one of the finest poets of Welsh literature and commemorated by this memorial at the farm where he was born & lived all his life en.m.wikipedia.org
3. Soap Opera
Yeah, okay. Sorry about this one. Literal mind and all that
4. New Life
I was hoping for a new lamb but January is a little early for them around here so instead here are one of my favourite flowers. We always know we are headed in the right direction when these appear.
5. White stuff
Literal again but we had plenty though the middle of the month and it’s very beautiful
6. Leaves
Inspired to think laterally by Christy’s example, these are the cows departing the barn on their way to the field
7. Animal Track
I saw this lovely bird print when walking the dogs on the top.
But when I turned round I saw this. It always fascinates me how the sheep follow the same paths week after week till they wear a track in the grass, which the snow has filled and highlighted
8. Lock
I couldn’t find an interesting example of either a door or canal lock, but then remembered this man. One of my absolute heroes former Wales captain and British Lion Alun Wyn Jones
9. My favourite
Who couldn’t love these two? I can’t choose between them so My (Joint) Favourite creatures
10. An interesting number plate.
Another struggle. This is the best I could do. The vehicle belongs to the local greengrocer which almost takes us full circle to #1 above.
