'12, or a dozen of anything'
Here are 12 hours - sort of.
This is the face of our grandfather clock, it is lovingly cared for by Mr AL. We inherited it from his grandma, and it stands in our hall.
This is another family heirloom, Mr AL rescued it years ago when his mother threatened to put it into a skip. We had it repaired when we moved into this house. It's Welsh slate and weighs a lot, to the extent that when we installed the fireplace that it sits on, we had it reinforced
Both clocks are part of life's soundtrack. The grandfather clock chimes, and I take a degree of comfort in hearing it at night. On those nights when sleep is fitful, it's reassuring when I count the chimes and realise I have missed a few! We had to get it repaired post-lockdown, as the weight rope broke. It's 18th century and still keeps remarkable time.
Anyway, that's a wrap on the December treasure, which has been great fun. Big thanks to Reiver for the list and to Um for keeping us all up to date
