So, as I set the challenges for this treasure hunt, I thought I'd better go looking for them myself. Some were more difficult than others as you can't anticipate presents received, weather and when neighbours take their decorations down!
Day 1
My favourite gift was this pair of stunners! These are wing mirror covers for my campervan. For quite some time, I have been adding orange trim as a contrast colour on the van, so now I will be able to add these onto the wing mirrors, although the fitting looks a bit fiddly.
Day 2
Our Boxing Day walk was a stroll through town and along the River Wansbeck.
Day 3
The challenge for today was to find an angel. I had to default to the one from the top of the tree.
Day 4
I knew that the department store in town always decorates their windows and they put the nativity scene in the first window without fail. It's hard work trying to keep a steady hand for a picture when the dog is pulling on the lead wanting to head off to the next lamppost!
Day 5
I wasn't sure what I would do for five gold rings - then I walked through the shopping arcade and looked up. Perfect. There were six of these - but I made sure there are only five in the photo.
Day 6
I agree with other Fetchies that it can sometimes be awkward when you're taking pictures of people's homes. Our estate had loads of nice wreaths on the doors, but long driveways made it difficult to get a decent picture.
I headed into town with the dog again as I know of a terrace where the front doors sit right on the street. I was rewarded with some splendid wreaths and an nice assortment of door colours.
Day 7
We went to the beach today. Nothing very wintry at all, but a wonderful Winter's day with the low sun making me squint.
Day 8
Updating your annual targets on Fetch is a kind of resolution, right? So, here are my targets for 2023. Swimming might have to be updated if I decide to dabble with triathlon again.
Day 9
An outdoor or alternate Christmas tree. I had one in mind for this - an illuminated installation in a garden on the next street. Unfortunately, this neighbour was a bit sharpish in taking his decorations down.
My backup photo is these homemade items that my pal was making before Xmas.
Day 10
Nothing says Christmas like a puppy in a Christmas pudding jumper. Doesn't Stan look delighted too?
I did find a deer when Stan and I went for our walk
Day 11
I set the task to find chocolate because I'd seen the creme eggs arriving in the shops. So, whilst doing the shop for tea, I was looking for chocolate. ( I may have bought some too
)
Day 12
Todays final task was to find a dozen of any item. Whilst in the supermarket, I decided to add a dozen of something else that I enjoy as much as chocolate
12 bottles of beer!

I was the usual skinny lad at school and hated cross country, even though I was quite good.I discovered road cycling aged 21 and that has been my favourite sport ever since, but always with sporadic outbursts of running which was required for police fitness tests. In the 90's I ran the Great North Run a few times which was always done with only a few weeks build up. I discovered triathlon in my 40's and had to get the hang of swimming, then ticked off a bucket list objective when I finished Ironman UK in 2014. Now totally uninterested in swimming, the 2020 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have kind of made the decision for me to retire from tri and just focus on cycling for fun and looking forward to resuming parkruns for the social occasions.
