Today. "Our topic for New Year's Day is Resolutions." Reiver said... "I'm sure you lot will be as creative as usual and come up with some great interpretations of New Year's Resolutions. 😀"

Well, I had to give that some thought. I'm generally not good at sticking to new year's resolutions. I generally forget about them at some point... in... mmm... January. 😉😂

Mind you, I did set myself some Fetchmas Challenge targets so if I post them in the blog often enough, just maybe, I'll remember them!

1) Read at least one book per month.
2) Find another option to improve my language skills (Duolingo is helping me pick up Spanish vocabulary but I think I need to go to classes to improve my confidence in speaking the language).
3) Do some walking or running in at least three different locations outside the UK during 2023.
4) Keep up my weight training sessions to at least the current level.
5) Continue with my once weekly body pump sessions as often as possible.
6) Have another look at the book of Cryptic crosswords I bought ages ago and try and fathom out one or two of the answers.

Quite useful because I realised that I've already made a start on number 3, having done some walking and running while I'm here on Tenerife. 😁

So this morning, I decided that my only proper resolution would be to make sure I pause for a minute once a day to take in my surroundings and take note of the beautiful world around me. Today, I stopped to look at the rocks beside the harbour wall while on my walk. I noticed a few brightly coloured crabs but by pausing and looking more closely, I noticed that actually the rocks were teeming with tiny juvenile crabs. The tiniest I'd ever seen, and quite beautiful! Not very photogenic, unfortunately. Well , not with the quality of camera on my phone.

I also went down to the beach, and paused there, to listen to the sea lapping on the shore. Equally lovely!

Got something to say?

In 2005 I discovered the Fetcheveryone site, and thanks to the help and support of Fetchies, my running has moved on a bit since then.
