Following from a conversation on the Garmin thread…

The race predictor on my Garmin (Fenix 7 Solar sapphire, my retirement gift to me ;) )
has been a source of amusement for a while.
When I first got the watch back in April it thought that I could run 5K at 8.15 pace and a marathon @12.07

That didn’t last long and it settled for the next three months at a more reasonable, but still unobtainable level.

Ever since the Lakeland 50, those paces have been dropping and now after a low mileage recovery period and a bout of Covid, the numbers are 32.30 for 5K (10.28 pace) and 6:08 for marathon (14 min pace)

Does anyone find that their numbers make sense?

Since my last 5K was 33.45 at Storeys field at the beginning of July, it’s still somewhat optimistic, but I’ll take the 5K prediction as a target to aim for once I get ‘training’ again.

Assuming that the lingering effects of the Covid bugger off soon and I feel like some proper mileage and training

Still full of yucky head-cold and tiring much too easily :(

Got something to say?
