As I chose the list for February, I thought I should really give it a go and set an example 😉
1. Gone With the Wind
The recent storms were not quite as bad for the North East. My lunchtime walk takes me past these trees which were decimated by Storm Arwen before Christmas. Most of the damages trees have been cut down and the timber is being piled up. I wish I still had a log burner.
2. Jaws
A bit of random taxidermy from a pub in Cumbria where we stopped for a pint
3. On the Waterfront
Not all seaside photos can be beautiful bright shots at this time of year – spot the fishing boat?
4. Alien
I’m guessing Mighty Morph must have come from another planet, just like Clark Kent/Superman!
5. Singin' in the Rain
I’ve been doing my training indoors while it’s been raining (and stormy/windy etc) and always have loud music playing while I’m cycling on Zwift. Does my avatar look realistic? That’s me with Morph
6. Some Like it Hot
I like hot food, but I really can’t deal with it. This was tea on Saturday night – I went through 3 napkins, dabbing the sweat off my face.
7. The Big Country
I went back to October to retrieve this shot from Loch Morlich in the Cairngorms. One of my favourite places and glorious big countryside.
8. Rocky
These are some of the rocks on the coast where the erosion of the layers creates wonderful patterns
9. City Lights
The gents underground toilet in the middle of the Bigg Market in Newcastle is now converted into a trendy wine bar! I give you city centre lights!
10. It's a Wonderful Life
Mrs Reiver and myself enjoy nothing more than getting away from it all and relaxing in our van. Fortunately, Northumberland is also a big county with lots of empty space and it’s easy to find some solitude.

I was the usual skinny lad at school and hated cross country, even though I was quite good.I discovered road cycling aged 21 and that has been my favourite sport ever since, but always with sporadic outbursts of running which was required for police fitness tests. In the 90's I ran the Great North Run a few times which was always done with only a few weeks build up. I discovered triathlon in my 40's and had to get the hang of swimming, then ticked off a bucket list objective when I finished Ironman UK in 2014. Now totally uninterested in swimming, the 2020 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have kind of made the decision for me to retire from tri and just focus on cycling for fun and looking forward to resuming parkruns for the social occasions.
