Think this is my 25th Fetch treasure hunt. Not one of my finest efforts, but I was distracted by last week's show, and hampered by having to do a lot of running in the dark (which was fine for street signs but not for landscapes!)
My usual house rules about all being taken on a run.
1. Gone With the Wind
No shortage of fallen fence panels and foliage this month. Here's a tree blocking the path by the river - necessitating a bit of limbo to get under.
2. Jaws
Sandy is served by two dentists, should you have trouble with yours.
3. On the Waterfront
This rather nice dock/deck was constructed during lockdown. About 100m upstream of the fallen tree.
4. Alien
Tyre sculpture outside the local nursery. Have been waiting for an opportunity to use it in a treasure hunt for two years!
5. Singin' in the Rain
When I went for a run round the RSPB just before the Race for Wildlife 10k was about to start, in some shocking weather, I regret not asking one of the marshals I was chatting with to pose with her umbrella. So... resorting to a somewhat abstract street sign... The St Swithun's Singers is the name of one of our local choirs (that I've played for a couple of times). And there is the legend of St Swithun:
St. Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mare
6. Some Like it Hot
Four curry houses to choose from in Sandy if that's how you like your food. A fertile area of debate on the local Facebook groups about which is best.
7. The Big Country
A view over the Ivel Valley from the RSPB, under some menacing skies.
8. Rocky
It doesn't get more rocky round here than Mary Lansley's Rockery Centre.
9. City Lights
Town lights would be more accurate... The view from the top of the Sand Hills.
10. It's a Wonderful Life
Didn't have anything particularly fitting here - but on the last stretch of my run home tonight was taken by the juxtaposition of the warning sign and de-fib - definitely trying to preserve life.
Thanks Reiver for a challenging set of clues - and I do like a theme!!
