I'm posting a working definition here for ease of reference in future.
In a deathmatch group stage there will be a number of entrants, a “Killing the X” option and a wildcard of some sort.
If none of the ‘proper’ contenders beats the wildcard the latter goes through under Rule 5.
HOWEVER, Rule 6 will be applied where one or more wildcards are proven to be disproportionately strong compared to all others, defined as polling more than twice the average of the other wildcards in the round. In this case Rule 5 will be waived and the number of votes allocated to the Strong Wildcards replaced with the aforementioned average value.
