Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Double Virtual and Real Run

I started the Welsh Coastal Path virtual challenge on Jan 1st.

The plan was it would keep me motivated through the year when there was still much uncertainty around real races.

Then the fabulous Castles Challenge started on April 2nd and I found myself ‘running’ at opposite ends of Wales ‘virtually’ while my actual running was all in the NE corner of Cymru.

I’d always intended to finish the WCP on the actual path. The border and start/finish marker are about 12 miles from my front door. A friend was planning to pick me up so I didn’t have to run home.

(That bit of path is notoriously boring. I didn’t want to run it both ways🤣)

The route for the castles challenge also went along the same path on the approach to Chester Castle. When this first started I just thought it was a shame that I wouldn’t be on that same bit of route on both challenges at the same time.

Then last night I realised that with a big push today I could actually run both virtual routes for real at the same time today.

I only needed 4 miles to complete the WCP which I have only logged runs on.

I needed 25m for Castles. Plan was to run and walk 13 miles this morning the run the remaining 12 this afternoon. I ended up running it all as it wasn’t that warm today.

The WCP route with where I started the day and my run along the path.

Double badge day- nice bonus
