Sadly, I had to remove a little fledgling from our garden this morning. Looked to be quite well developed, but not feathered yet, so I don’t know what species. Given our garden residents, most likely a house sparrow that was predated and dropped :-(

Black headed gulls hawking for mayflies along the river this evening. Lots of Common Sandpiper, and a roding Woodcock. Very few Sand Martins this year.
