krusty havent trained for a week or so while on holiday. noticed race advertised outside school so decided to enter as a 'training run'. weather was great, start was a bit hectic but was sorted after about a mile when shorter distance runners seperated from main race, was told it was a flat run, will i ever stop falling for that one, but enjoyed the run and ended up with a better time than expected Bournville Harriers 40:56 45:15 50:00 46:41 63.64
paskha 21st 10K / 6th St. Levan 10K. No running in July !!! apart from the Mag 7 .... so I didn't expect to get under the hour this evg (Indian Queens Half was going to be about 2:15, but I met up with Jane who was injured and waited with her, so that ended up 2:30!) Mounts Bay Harriers 52:37 53:49 1:02:00 58:30 60.29
Yog-Sothoth My first crack at racing, after nearly a year of solitary running. Looking forward to the experience - hope I don't overcook it and blow up before the end!

What a hoot that was!! The weather conditions were perfect - sunny, but not too hot with a light breeze. The start was a bit disorganised, with the youngsters in a 2-mile kids race and the grown-ups doing the 10K all mixed up together. We were still being urged backwards to the official start line when the hooter went off, and I didn't have time to set my watch until we'd been running for about 10 seconds. I worried that I was going too fast due to the immediate adrenalin rush, but soon settled down as the race itself settled into a long uphill drag. After the halfway drink station, I found myself in a small group of fairly quick guys and concentrated on matching their pace, which I did until the end. The last little lump before the sprint to the finish seemed to take just about all that I had left, but I recovered just enough to get round the corner to the sports ground and even managed a sprint to the finish. I was amazed at my time, as i'd only ever managed 46-48 mins in 10k training runs, but I guess race conditions give you that little bit of an edge. My first 10K has given me my first PB - looking forward to improving on it soon! Unaffiliated 39:16 41:43 45:00 42:46 64.56
