Boycie A very nice evening hill race in the grounds of Blaise Castle north of Bristol. Had no intention of doing a race this evening - particular after my hard intervals session this morning, but it was a nice evening and I thought this could be a way of seeing some pleasant countryside so I headed up on the bus with a plan of just coasting round and enjoying myself. Indeed I started pretty steady and after the first ascent - a zig-zagging path up the hill side I was lying in 17th place, the second ascent which was a lot steeper seemed to account for a lot of the peeps in front and I must have gained a half dozen or so places at that point before trying to up the pace a bit in the last few minutes. Final hill was the hardest in a sense because it was mainly steps that were hard to get any rhythm on, but battled through to finish in just over 26 minutes which I was well pleased with.
