Valentines 10K. I finally got an 'official' time that somewhat does me justice, but once again I didn't race particularly well today. Conditions weren't great - albeit better than my last two races - and I was poorly prepared and lacking motivation. No excuses, however.

That being said, I'm strangely pleased that I was able to run such a time without really making it out of third gear. Either I just didn't have it today, or I'm turning into a long-hauler who lacks the aforementioned extra gear! I didn't have a single split under 4:00, which tells a story given my overall time, but was consistent throughout. It wasn't comfortable by any means, but I didn't feel thrashed at the end. An interesting race, it's made me want to have a crack at 10M next.

Course was kinda cool, a few sloping hills and heavy wind at points - a good portion is run on the Norwich HM course, so it was familiar territory for me. Far easier this time! Great facilities and a nice medal at the end, so well worth the trip out. Huzzah for an official PB - I'll be looking for the magic 40 next time around.
