Great South Run 10 mile. 15 degrees and windy, but otherwise great conditions. Felt good and tried to go off at a strong yet sensible pace and relaxed into a good rhythm. Started to get a bit tougher around 7 miles, then at 8 miles turned onto Southsea Esplanade straight into a headwind (it was blowing a hooley), which was a real battle for a mile, then began to recover for a strong final mile (still into the wind). Delighted to beat my PB by nearly 6 minutes and am confident there is more to come!
Course measured a bit long, I made 10 miles 1.21:21
Splits 5k 25:13, 10k 50:40, 15k 1.16:45. Overall really pleased as one of my most consistent races.

Well done Chris, looks like you ran at a very consistent pace, which is not easy to do when it is windy. A quality race there, my time today would have got me 75th place!

Fantastic! Looks like a good, controlled race (despite the wind!), so there's obviously more to come - and that should translate into a very nice HM PB, too. Well done!
