eL Bee! Almost didn't run this - but did in the end.
It was all parkland - so muddy grass, a small amount of path and much slipperyness!!!
Was glad to have had the foresight to take roclites (although mudrocs would have been preferable!)
As this was my first outing at this distance, was not quite sure what to expect - and considering the off-road nature of the course, was pretty pleased with the way it went
A small field - around 70 runners
I came 7th overall
and was 2nd MV40
Although the time difference betwenn me and the skinny whipprty bu@@er that beat me was 'significant'

Oh - and my 11 year old son - came in in 26:07
I was Gobsmacked
And Very proud of him!

Pinchi Was hoping to set a blistering pace for my first 5k - however did not realise most of it would be on muddy/wet fields - ran in my road shoes which cost me time. Nice small friendly race - met El Bee and Evil Pixie - nice to meet you both -as well as Little El Bee (same top as big El Bee - reminded me of Little Ant & Dec!! nice one guys.) and also the Running Gnome (strangely enough a relative of the Evil Pixie) - well done little fella!
Wolverhampton & Bilston AC, Midland Masters A C

Haggis Take a hint, don't try to run an off-road race, in muddy conditions, in smooth-soled road racing shoes!! Quite a feat to stay upright.

Happy with the time considering the conditions.

EvilPixie pre-event organisation was poor and we nearly didn't do this. Was planning to do the 2k but ended up doing the 5k and getting a PB. No walking too so very pleased. Tough course as off road and tarmac and slippy in road shoes.
Gnome also ran the 5K (beams)
