Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Having run a 21:36 in training, albeit with a 2 minute pause to figure out where I was, over a much hillier course on Monday I was convinced that I could repeat that in a race. I played it safe and aimed for 22 mins, although secretly I wanted a 21:36 and felt great when that is exactly what I got!

Splits. . .

1K (Target) 4:24 (Actual) 4:20 2K 8:48 8:42 3K 13:12 13:04 4K 17:36 17:20 5K 22:00 21:36

I was a bit concerned after the first K as I was slightly up on the pace, so eased off slightly. I found the pace seemed very gentle, relaxed even, as compared to when I ran in the previous race, so I kept ahead of schedule and really only found it hard in the last K. That is a measure of how far I've come in a month as I was pretty much dead after 2.5K before. I tried to run the last 1.5K on my toes and was surprised how quickly I overtook a couple of the other runners, sadly I couldn't sustain that for more than 1K so that's something for me to work on!
