Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Chris Worthers Thanks everyone for the 5000 credits that were bet - was a bit bemused by it all at first but it really helped me focus. After telling myself not to set off too fast, I set off too fast. Cue a steady stream of overtakers from 3k onwards. I was well ahead of my target pace so just had to hang on in there. If I had known about the free bananas at the end I might have run a bit quicker.

Doctor K I'll be refreshed after a week in Lanzarote early Oct so let's go for a second under PB, and not going off like a clown at the start.. Just shaking off a cold with 3 days to go but hopefully by Sunday the rest will have done me good.
A PB ! blimey didn't expect that after a week on the lemsips. Conditions very good this morning and ran nice and steadily. Felt like stopping a few times -pretty normal for a 10K. Out of gas at the end.

Iron Bry! Made the age old mistake of starting too fast! Although I pretty much hit my predicted time it wasn't a comfortable run. Three 4.10 kilometres at the start took it out of me and I paid for it during the second half of the race. Fourth fastest kilometre was my last one (4.27) where I picked up the pace and gave it everything to avoid being overtaken near the line! I'll know better for next time!

Really enjoyed the event though - goody bag was great and the weather was absolutely perfect. Will be back again - but with a better race plan!

tryfan Had set out to get under 50 minutes and hit it on the nail - just needed an extra spurt at the end. Pleased with the result though as a had a congested chest and found it hard to get my breathing settled - there always next time!!
