CROP TOPS
I am finalising our stock kit order. There will be a variety of sizes of all items and I will let you know when they arrive.
As there is a minimum order number for each type of garment, I would like to know how many secondary/senior athletes would like to buy a crop top. They come in sizes 4-18 and cost £30.30.
Please get in touch with me by Thursday if you would like to buy a crop top.

🏃🏻♀️5k TO 10k GROUP GETS GOING🏃🏻♂️
We were delighted to see our latest group get up and running last night. They are taking on a programme that will help them progress from running 5k at the moment up to 10k in time for the Kirkwall 10k event in May. Good luck, everyone!

📣OTE KIRKWALL HALF MARATHON REPORT📣
Today, we had the OTE Kirkwall Half Marathon over the Island Games route. Twenty-eight runners took to the roads. Many were taking on the four-lap course for the second time, so the repeated hill climb hasn’t put everyone off!
The men's race was very exciting, with several visitors to Orkney taking part, as well as many locals, including five men battling it out for a place on the Athletics team for the Island Games. Craig Moar led for the majority of the race, but David Grant overtook him on the last of the four laps. Craig managed to regain the lead, and he ended up taking the win, just nine seconds ahead of David, with a time of 1:18:02. Craig is the Ingebrigsten of OARC…he already had his Island Games standards, but he put himself back out there and competed! It was so exciting to have such a close race over this distance. Five of the men who ran this course last year improved their time today. Special shout out to OARC secretary, Rob, who ran almost twelve minutes faster!
Emma Coffey was in a league of her own in the women's race, as the only one of the female Island Games hopefuls to put herself on the start line. She led from gun to tape and secured another Games standard, with a time of 1:31:45. Having been poorly lately and unable to put the miles in, this was a great result for Emma and made her trip north well worthwhile. The other women were fairly close together throughout the race, and it was Ruth Spence who finished second in 1:56:57. It was great to see the number of local women taking on the course doubling, in comparison with last year. Hopefully, that trend will continue!
Congratulations to all of the runners!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Preparations for this event have been ongoing for many weeks. The course was set up yesterday, then the first of our volunteers arrived at 7.30am this morning and the last left at 12.45pm. It takes a lot of work to run these events and we are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers who gave up their time. From the planning, the course set-up, organisation of timing equipment, marshalling, officiating, first aid, refreshments, announcing, the music, the clear-up and more, so many people have been involved in making the event a success and we are grateful to every single person.🫶🏻
ThOrkney Television Enterpriseon Enterprise for the generous sponsorship and to Norman for presenting the medals. Also to the staff at Picky, the triathlon club for the loan of the gantry, Run St Magnus for the loan of the timing equipment and to everyone who came out and supported the runners, especially those in the houses around the route.
Two weekends and two very successful events!😅
PS I’m so sorry for missing the women’s start🫣. I totally forgot we were doing them separately.

As well as providing regular athletic instruction and training sessions, one of the key aims of OARC is to promote pathways to performance and as part of this, the Club organises and participates in a range of home and away competitions throughout the year.
