Jet still has the seven white hairs uder his lower eyelid where he had the op for dystachia. Otherwise he's the same all black (with a rusty sheen in winter) that he ever was.

It's a sad fact that bigger dogs take longer to grow up ... Then tend to have shorter lives.

WHat happens when you cross a whippet with a GSD? You get a Pippa

She's whippet height with a long thin whippety tail and one little whippet ear and one big floppy GSD ear. She was a rescue - found wandering the streets of Middlesborough, and yes a bit of handful when she came to live with Mum. She's calmed down a lot in recent years, no longer the feared ratter she once was, but she did scare an ambulance crew and some cops half to death when they burst into the house to resussitate my step-father after he'd gone into anaphylaxis.

She has the sweetest personality. I love her to bits.

She looks really sweet. How good to hear a happy ending after what sounds like a sad start in life.

On both walks today with Flossie, someone has remarked 'What a happy looking dog!' :-) She does love it here. If *only* I would let her on the sofas it would be perfection ;-). She did jump onto the sofa yesterday morning but I was in the room and shouted 'Off!' straightaway, before she'd even had time to settle down. She jumped down and went to lie on her floor cushion, without hesitation. I don't think she was trying it on so much as forgot the 'seaside house rules' :-)

I was amazed how quickly Ernie grasped the no dogs on Granny's sofa rule. He did chance it a couple of times but mostly stayed on the rug.
