Most of us have lots of inaccessible squares. My tactic is to ignore them and concentrate on the ones I can get to - you only need 113 to be guaranteed a win (in practice you'll usually need somewhat fewer than that). Sometimes you'll come up against somebody who just seems able to counter everything you do - those are the weeks you just have to hold up your hands, say 'fair play and well done' before going for a long run off-grid.

My area leaves me with large inaccessible areas too Jayfire, it’s only my first week on the grid and after teething problems with actually placing my grid position and fetch having to move it for me I’m just going to see what happens as the weeks go on! I don’t want to move into a worse position!
All I’ve done differently this week is cut out a section of my usual daily run which took me off grid! If anything it’s got me out of running the same Route day after day!
I’m have set out today to run for a couple of squares that I’d missed but it’s not really a WSW obsession it’s a daily running obsession!

What Cumbri said. 113 is all you need. Pick your favourite ones.

Ha ha, fair enough Daddy Shark. I think at the moment, very, very generally, I'm just doing more weekly mileage than my opponents and actually I think this week's and the last two weeks haven't been actively playing the game (sorry if you're lurking/reading and you have been!). Just looking further up the rankings I think, again very generally, I may get through even if the obsession on my side is low, but that's just down to weekly mileage generally (2000-ish miles a year). This week it's mainly been walking and I've so far got 136 squares I think, and probably after tomorrow it'll be 150ish. I think the first week when I was just figuring out routes I got close to 200, but that will in no way be usual for me and I can never get the full grid as a) I have 8 squares in the sea on one side and b) on the other side 5 squares are on private farmland. But I'm happy with my grid location as it now means I can get to all 4 corners which I couldn't the first 3 weeks, and I expect I'll do that this week following a walk tomorrow.

I don't think I can locate my grid in a better spot and I do have 113 accessible so I'm in with a shot every week. All 4 corners are within reach too so there is another target. I've been enjoying the game very much in the 3 weeks I've been playing
Thanks for the info everyone 😀

I think I'll got about 150 accessible squares with maybe a dozen more in summer.

You could claim to be Scottish Jayfire, and unaware of tricky English trespassing laws.
Using my right to roam I can probably reach about 185 squares when the fields are stubble and the nettles quiescent. But some are not worth the effort, especially with swollen streams and flooded fields to avoid.

Sushi.
I got trench foot and frostbite going for the 4th corner.
Turned out the footpath was more of a mudbath.
Consequently I’m not going for the other 10 accessible squares. I’d have to have waders onto get through the mud

I walked to the fourth corner this morning, to complete all 4 in a single week, but the badge wasn't activated. Does anyone know if the badge is only activated after the match has ended on a Monday, or should it be straight after the activity has been uploaded?
