Interesting concept Chris.
I am still sitting in 8th place but the person in 9th looks to be tied on max points in a number of squares and so if I am lucky enough to progress it might more be bad luck on the other players part than good work by me. Will be interesting to see how the grid develops over the weekend.

Perhaps squares drawn on 40 points should be counted as owned, or divided among those who have 40 points.

Yeah, thats probably a good option actually. If someone has hit max points (swim aside) then they do deserve a share of the spoils for that square. Would mean some people had to do more on a Monday morning than they would prefer though

ChrisHB - Interesting idea but I think Monday morning will resolve a lot of these ties, if they still exist by then, as many either can't exercise on Monday morning or will carry their activity and use it in the next/week round.
