The entry level model had 16 kB RAM and an external tape recorder was needed to load the majority of software. It was 'a computer for the masses' and much cheaper than its rivals - the Commodore 64 and the BBC Microcomputer.

What I do have is the magazines called Input which was for the spectrum for you to programme things for yourself, not that I could work it out... much like computers today

I don't think I can get both this weekend :/ I haven't been up there since early September (bereavement and snow) but Spring is decidedly upon us.
