Also learned yesterday but posting today: When we *eventually* buy our adventure vehicle it will be coach built rather than a panel van. |

Also learned yesterday Interrail is still a thing, and available to oldies and can be a viable option to sitting in airports wondering if your flight will leave! A lot slower, mind - but we have no time constraints.

[One of the first things we did after I stopped work was to take a long train trip around central and eastern europe. Tickets are mostly very cheap, trains generally pretty good, much more interaction with locals, and we changed trains in a few railway junction towns (Villach, Austria and Poprad, Slovakia for example) that were unexpectedly lovely, not at all like Crewe or Swindon. There are three Air Force One planes .... I guess, so that the baddies don't know which plane the President is flying in? Seems a very expensive way of doing things to me! (Source of info: Mr SD went to RIAT at Fairford yesterday).

Ah - I know that from when Barry O'Bama flew in for London 2012 and my employer copped part of the protection duty. Fun times. *TOP* tip about Interrail. Thanks for that. |

We need to put that Seat 61 link somewhere. Glenn's scrapbook wire seems as good a place as any

Believe Air Force one sometimes makes a technical stop in the UK as it’s a friendly country on the way back from wherever it’s been
