Surely the best bit about a crumpet is spreading on more and more butter, until the little holes overflow? Try that with toast and you end up with soggy toast.

Yes. My relations do in no uncertain terms. As I do with them that I will eat absolutely anything and should provide me that option as I do with them and their veganism.

The best bit about crumpet is realising that, even in your mid 50s you are undoubtedly the youngest person who eats crumpet. It’s a sort of elixir of eternal youth.

Veggie burger , too vague , there are certain ones I can cope with but some veggie burgers are rank

This left veg pasta and again so many questions.
