I find this business with the best two quizzes on TV broadcast on different days a tad disconcerting, being a creature of habit. So much so I have had a total nightmare, been watching on catch-up for one reason or another and after 5 UC's the OH is walloping me 4-1. Usually I won most in the early rounds, and OH's medical, classical music and arts knowledge comes to the fore in the later rounds. I need to buck up my ideas. I think is was in the 4th maybe 5th program that the captain from Glasgow made me laugh out loud, pretty smart but doesn't know what a microphone is for. I could also imagine him getting the odd beating witch his accent. |

I've found myself watching OC on broadcast sometimes and UC on catch up. Two behind. Scoring so far - reasonable. Would have beaten three losing teams, I think. Actually, I did very well on week three, but when one team is so dismally dim, that's not so hard. Also thought that that guy from Glasgow (week 4) may have suffered some uncomfortable times growing up, even if he lived in one of the poshest bits. |

although I don't get many answers right on UC or OC, I generally get more than I did on Child Genius!

I think it's nice having two quiz nights a week. 😀 Even though I'm rubbish at UC as I don't know much about the non-science subjects and I've forgotten a lot of the science I learned. My husband is better than me at UC and I'm better than him at OC as trivia and lateral thinking is more my thing.

How did none of the students know that a pineapple is a bromeliad? 🙄

I went to college with the Detectives on tonight's edition. The captain, Tim Hall, made a tidy profit out of pub quiz machines when we were students and he later moved into setting quiz questions for pubs and machines, etc. They should be a strong team.

19/20/19/19/22 over the last five UCs. Almost worryingly consistent. Though I was stuck on 2 for ages in the last one. OC-wise, pulling out about one great answer per edition and doing ok with the walls, though there was one a couple of weeks ago I was completely blank on (as, I think, were the team). I also went back the other day and did some old walls on the website. Results were ... mixed. (This was prompted by finding via a FB chat that a friend cannot abide Victoria. I suggested trying some connecting walls as she was stuck home following a ballet injury. She described them as a nightmare. I shouldn't be surprised really, she is a teacher :-p.) |

Oh yes bbc.co.uk Although there is afaik no programme play-along now (at least, it is not flagged up onscreen as it used to be, possibly due to multi-platform asyncronicity?) I must admit, adore Victoria as I do, I did need to turn her off on the walls. |
