Thank you. I will try! What was your strategy with the LDWA event?

I’ve not done any LDWA (yet) I did my first 100k in 2021 and The Wall in 2022 I didn’t have a strategy as such but drank and ate regularly from the off (something I’m not good at - I’ve not got alerts on my watch every 30min for a snack something small a jelly sweet, something savoury - bite sized things) and drink at least then but more regularly if it’s hot - I tend to drink to thirst and only small amounts

I ran when I could but conscious not to do too much and walk when I needed too and generally walk hills. Someone said to me if you think you’re going too slow, slow down it’s a long way don’t burn out too soon.

I listen to my body and check in. On the 100k I ignored the foot and by time I stopped at 26m I had a huge blister (soaking wet feet) and I had dry socks and blister treatment I should have stopped and dealt with it, by 35m they had to burst it. Not good at all. I’m much better now at sorting issues out when I notice them.

Talk to fellow crazies, enjoy the scenery and work on your why to keep you motivated & moving forward. Oh and don’t spend too long at aid stations that is one thing I’ll change next time.

Cool! Thanks Pothunter Have you got a time in mind?

I’ve set myself a nominal target of 6 hours, but looking at the weather forecast that may be optimistic! I’ve assured MrsPH that I will be sensible!

Primary goal is to finish in one piece :-)

That's mine too Pothunter :)

If I have to walk it all to be safe then I will.

Based on a 40 mile run from a decade ago i could do it in under 6 hours but i am less fast these days plus this one requires navigating not merely running around a lake 10 times.

So erm 7-9 hours depending on how hot i get. The two RW people were on for a 8:10 start but one has enquired about starting with me.
