Well I hope she didn’t spend the day faffing with boys for a start.

I’m hoping for some help from the collective mind. Me and my mate want to do a Middle distance in the early part of next year. We had thought that Outlaw half in Nottingham might be the thing, but I’ve looked today and there’s some jiggery-pokery going on with entries. If you only want to enter 1 race you have to wait until Phase 3 entries which opens a week and a half after Phase 1. The only way you can enter at Phase 1 is if you want to do the Long race in the summer, at which point you can enter it and as many of the Middles as you want. Next at Phase 2 is an opportunity for anyone that wants to do more than 1 Middle (not us) and finally the scraps of what's left go to the fastest fingers in Phase 3. Given the high chance of at least one of us not getting in, I’m thinking we should probably look for a different race. Anyone got any recommendations for a Middle distance triathlon in late Apr, ?May or very early June? Preferably somewhere in the Midlands or SouthWest of England. |

113events.com 7th June. Cotswold based. Which is neither the midlands nor the South West but sort of in between? |

(But I'm pretty sure the Outlaw middle won't sell out and you will both get places)

TRO Saracen
Grafman in mid-late May. Cambridgeshire, which is definitely not East Anglia so must be Midlands. See you there..... Thanks for asking re Mrs TRO. She swam really well, struggled on the hilly bike in the rain then gutted a run out with huge GI issues. Nearly broke but hung on for the finish, 7hrs 14 mins ish. Proud of her refusal to quit. She was honest enough after to acknowledge that the fitness was lacking and more consistent and harder training is required to meet expectations at this distance (or longer). All good..... |
