Top banana, Jef! What a cracking time. I too can't imagine 40 spm - is it possible to go that fast and hold technique?

A thought occurs to me. Is there such a thing as a ladies-to-gents time converter? Similar to WAVA for running? Cos the ladies otherwise are going to be stuck in the second half of the 2k table. Seems demotivating, and unfair - for example, SallyKate's time all things considered could well be better than mine.

Sally, a lot of the Cameron Buchan Vlogs I've watched have the top GB guys doing their easy stuff and they're rating at 16 or 18. They're capable of giving themselves a tough workout doing that 30/R20 session (30 minutes at rate 20 rowing for max distance int he time) despite being capable of stroking at high 30s to low 40s in a 2k.

It's not much different to top middle distance runners. They might be capable of a 3:40-something mile but the majority of their training is 6 min mile or slower, with relatively small bursts of very intense intervals.

Muttley, the only conversions I've seen are based on weight and I've honestly no idea what it's comparing to or how it's converting. If it would help I could split the table into separate men and women table?

For a laugh a week or so back I did a 100m timed peice and topped 40 spm but only for about half of the 18 seconds! Holding that for even the last 250 of a 2km would be a distant dream for me.

Jef, that's an impressive result mate. Another contender for the Sub-7 prize? (Note: There's no actual prize)

Wow. I wander off and do some work and life and stuff for a couple of days and there are 68 posts waiting for me...

Well done on the excellent times everyone, seems like brilliant progress is being made.

I'm seriously tempted by all these tales of derring-do to have another pop at 2km myself. I'd better get a few more training sets in first though (and lose the 0.4kg that I need to get back to being a Lwt).

I don't know if it's worth doing, Nellers, unless the ladies care ... they might not! I was just thinking aloud.
