The Doctor K Cup
98 watchers
The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in

Woke up feeling like I had been swallowing whole gorse bush branches throughout the night and struggled for breath on the run so was quite surprised to see that I somehow beat my, what I thought was optimistic, prediction by 1m 48s. I did say I was no good at feeling these things out atm though. Good running for a great reason out there today all. |

In my head of course I meld into one with the black drainpipe forming a K of great elegance. Thinking of those we’ve lost. |

I'm not venturing out the house today, but loving seeing all the many and varied Ks, and thinking of our missing friends.

Wettest Parkrun I’ve ever seen up here in Stirling. Promised this run to stevce back in the Spring, but didn’t predict Amber rain conditions. Poor attempt at making a K - my legs don’t lift far these days. |
