Somewhere I've got at least one of his Snowdonia books that I borrowed from my ex's Dad and "forgot" to return. I'm sure he's called William Arthur on those books though, not Walter?

From wikipedia: "...William Arthur Poucher, known as Walter, a nickname he acquired during his Army service..."

Reading Dave A's post about walking with dogs got me thinking - is it possible to do The Nab with a dog in tow? The only time I was up in that area there were a lot of red deer about, some on the path from Rest Dodd, so we didn't venture across the wall.
Any thoughts?

We’ve walked ours all over the Lakes, but no ridges. They like to not come back so never go off lead. We have to take it easy on the harsh/wet descents.

They do like to pull at sheep and livestock too.

Nice lunch stop. Descended down the usual ridge back to Ambleside.

Very jealous !
Days with sun and a 'sprinkling' of snow like that are rare & precious.
