Work's just given me a terrific boon: 2 overripe bananas, and they haven't turned rotten (I just peeled them to be sure).
An hour from now, a banana cake should be cooling on the hob.

The cake has passed the skewer test after 30 minutes in the oven and a couple of moments with it switched off (the recipe says 50, I didn't use a loaf tin, so the mixture was shallow).
The top is looking golden brown, texture like sun.
